because you can by Arienadean 2002-04-28 11:08:34
you and my daughter both have an illness... diffrent types of illness. With my daughter she has no choice on dying... your's puts you at some crossroad mentally where you feel you need to choose(ie you feel suicidal). My daughter has fought her disease and not once has she given up. Yes she's had depression (actually she was diagnosed as clinically depressed because of it) but she'd not take suicide. She has something horrible eating at her mind and body. I suppose in a way your illness(bi polar?) does the same at points. But you have a choice my daughter doesn't have... a choice to live and a chance to live. Despite what pain my daughters had flung at her she has wanted to live and she has found some joy(even if it has be little things at times). If you try you could find joy too... Even when life is very hard there are little bits of goodstuff around, things that still can suprize us by making us smile. If you don't try to live you deprive yourself of the possibility of many good things. Yes you might experience some bad along the way but the good far outweighs the bad usually in my experience.(and I've had to deal with a fair amount of bad in my life... and yes I've had to deal with the cross road you feel your at)

Get yourself some medical help or councelling. If your medical doesn't cover it... it doesn't matter where you are typically there are non profit organizations that will help you. If you try online support groups via email lists you'll find others that can relate, that you share something in common with, and who might be able to give you suggestions on how to cope.

Take a look at the pics here under "Aly" ... that is my daughter and there are news articles. If a little kid can fight to live... you can too. You have some chance of beating your illness... unfortunately my daughter does not.
