Clouds you say? What kind of nonsense is this guy rambling about?
Well that's just one thing that makes life good, despite what irrelivance it has to our everyday life, they're still there, and they're still vastly intersting. When was the last time you looked at the clouds? They're there most of the time (except those clear, sunny days which are good in itself). But despite the obvious difference we have between our bodies of flesh, bone and muscle and the huge masses of water vapor, we still have similiarities with the clouds.
In our own way, we are all clouds when you think about it. What purpose is there to this life? We start from basically nothing to mass into these bigger things of seemingly nothingness. We float aimlessly around and accomlishing what seems to be nothing. Some of us go in large groups while others seems to float by themselves. But its through both these cases that we have our final cause. Over time, as the clouds grow and grow, they become heavier and they bring down rain. Sometime with this rain is thunder and lightning, almost as we lash out to the cruel world that holds us near and dear. But most of the time, its just calm, rythmic, and almost serene. The rain falls from our heavenly bodies to the earth, and it gives live to those not only on the ground, but to other clouds, to future clouds. That rain is our purpose.
To simply die away is ignoring your purpose, and it not only takes yourself from the equation, but also takes the future out of the equation as well. What could have come from your when you rained down on this earth? As a cloud, it's simple, more clouds to do what you have been doing and continue the cycle. As a person though, your rain can bring even better things. You could bring about doctors, lawyers, scientists, inventors and the list goes on. And even if you don't, you still get to look at whatever you bring into this world with all the power and love in your heart and think to yourself "All the years of pain, all the sorrow I have felt for myself, it is all worth it to witness this one, singular moment."
And that's something that we ourselves differ from the clouds. They don't have the power of love. Though you don't feel it right now, it is something worth living for most definately. I don't say this as a geek, and I don't say this as anything else other than a human being. When you feel love, its like a high, you feel flutters in your heart, in your stomach and in your head. Its such an incredible feeling that its even beyond words to descibe to the world, but you do know it when you feel it. I'm not talking love between your parents or other relatives, I'm talking connecting with someone who does provide you with "gaurenteed love." It's a feeling that's just so incredible, but so hard to obtain. You feel as though you would do anything for the person, that they make life seem that much better to live and to have. They bring joy, happiness, and all things good to you and your life. The person can bring you up when you're feeling down, make you seem to forget any illness, and put you into a good, happy mood any time that you are not only with them, but with a thought as well. This high is something that people tend to take for granted these days, but it is something, at least to me in my pitiful existance, that makes life worth living. And I pretty sure I am not loved back by anyone at the moment, what I try to give makes me feel better. To show people that you do care, that you do want to be a part of their lives gives you some usefullness.
Unlike the clouds, we are capible of this emotion, and when we look up into the sky and see their beautiful formations and their slow movents across the brilliant blue sky, we can take comfort in though we are a lot alike, we all possess a capability that is far greater than anything else they may have: the power to love.
It is far worth living just to love someome. It helps make the world a better place, and you're letting someone know that they are special to at least someone, even though you may feel that you aren't special to anyone.
So to answer your statement, life is worth living just to love. To experience it, and to share it. Life is worth living just to prove that we are different from the clouds... |
