IT Excuse of the Day by UF-Locara 2002-03-29 05:25:42
Welcome once again to the IT Service Desk Excuse of the Day!!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to use the following phrase on a User to explain some problem that they are having.

STEP ONE: Read the Excuse. The part in the parenthesis is optional.

Today's excuse is: Temporary Systems Destabilization (Error)

STEP TWO: Compose a story to back up this excuse. Remember, the more outrageous the story, the more likely the user is to NOT understand it - and therefore believe it.

STEP THREE: Get the user to become part of the problem. i.e. "...It seems this only happens when the mouse is set up for right handed use. If you could just use your mouse with your left hand for a while..."

Have Fun with it... Amaze your friends with your problem solving abilities...
