To make programs others won't complain about. Can't complain if the stupid thing is smarter than you are, can you? (That's rhetorical: I KNOW people can complain, but there's no reason to listen if the complaints are patently stupid. (Which brings up the question of how many patents have been issued for stupidity, and to whom do we send the royalties? (Which further brings up the question of whether or not Americans should even say the word "royalties". (I think I'll stop with the parenthetical nonsense now.))))
