contacting Christo... by sonofabusch 2002-03-26 07:57:42
from google searching for a Christo web site, faq...

"How can I send Christo & Jeanne-Claude a proposal for a new piece of art?

You cannot. Christo & Jeanne-Claude have never accepted a proposal for a work of art. They feel strongly that to do so would make the project someone else's art.

We suggest to all of you with your own proposals for environmental art, that you just go out and do it. That's what Christo & Jeanne-Claude do, and of course the work is the center of their life.

They always start the same place you probably are now with zero monies. The thing that divides most people out from this process is an unwillingness to abandon their current lives and devote themselves totally to their proposed work of art. Because that is what it takes.

It is not about money, as most people think. It is about the passion necessary to go and earn it and then spend it on the art work. "
