CV and Resume are NOT the same by antares1970 2002-03-26 06:32:28
A CV and a resume are not the same. A CV is usually reserved for academic endeavors. It can and should include all the information of a resume, and a list of publications, patents, presentations, research interests, achievements, professional service, grants awarded, students graduated and placement and other information important to an academic environment. It is held to the same standards in terms of formatting, punctuation and grammar, but not in length. A resume is never more than two pages in length. My CV is currently four pages, and I have seen some as long as 12, with hundreds of publications and presentations. Please realize that one is more appropriate for an industrial (real world) position than the other.
