I s'pose this is the appropriate thread for this: How much of this "potential income" do the artists actually see? Also - what about "sampling" where another artist takes a bit of a song (for instance) and incorporates it into something new? (either as parody or whatnot) these are just a few things which come to my pre-coffee'd mind :)
