mind you at 12.. hmm that was 1985. So the personal computer revolution was in full swing. I'd already gone through my ZX81 phase (hey you can get a lot of code into 1Kb ok?) - and had upgraded to a woefully limiting Dragon 32 (woo 32Kb RAM!). I could program in BASIC. I had typed in games from listings in magazines in BINARY!!!, experimented with speech synthesis software....

All I ever wanted to do was become a biologist - and thats exactly what I did :)
