Hang on, hear me out before you LART me;o) a) I live in the UK so it wont affect me b) This proposal is absolutely 100% destined to fall flat on its face way before it becomes law because it is so laughably unworkable. c) If in the unlikely event of it ever becomming law, how are they going to enforce it? Most hardware is made in the far east, they are not about to change all of their production methods to incorporate hardware to harmonise the software so the lock is going to be software only. If this is the case then all you have to do is flatten your hard-drive and install Linux or any other free OS available throughout the world. Are the US Government going to arrest & imprison every Linux user? I don't think so! At worst it will be ignored and at best it will be the best news that the Linux community has ever had 'cos Microshaft will be bound by the law (at least in the US) and no-body wil want to buy their sw outside the US anyway!
