...and I have ripped every CD I own to MP3 (actually, .ogg.. same diff). It's FAR more convenient when I spend a large amount of time in front of the computer... I don't have to change CDs, I can use other CDs at the same time that I'm playing music, and I can transport the music (to another computer that's capable of playing them) much more easily. It also saves wear and tear on the CDs, and lets me keep them out of danger.
I think I have a whole three sound files that I don't own CDs of, and they would not be worth the trouble to find on CD: "Suicide is Painless", the theme song for "Neverending Story", and Batty's song from "Ferngully".
So this whole "recording MP3s is bad, mmkaay" bit that the recording industry is going through really ticks me off... when they fling around the "piracy" label, they end up hitting people like me with it. |
