If you used a root floppy as root, mounted your HD partitions
somewhere and then tried to run some progs off your HD, you might have
experienced version incompatibilities between the programs on
your harddisk and the libs on the floppy.
If for ex. some programs on your harddisk require glibc 2.2,
but the glibc on the floppy is only v2.1 , such a program might
segfault when it accesses the root floppy's /lib/libc.so.6 .
