How helpful can you get? by Egaeus2002-03-18 07:11:57

I don't know VHDL, but there are usual issues to check:
  • if you define an array like array(4), usually has length 4. VBscript and similar script languages interpret the number as the last accessible array element. Means: 0-4. Length is then 5. How does VHDL handle this?
  • It seems that you're deciding somewhere if the array has length 4 or 7. Is this logic wrong? Setting index 7 in an array of length 4 or 7 is usually impossible (cos counting indexes starts at 0 and the last indexes of your arrays could be 3 and 6).
