I thought it said "Our sysadmin is replacing it and me with a Pentium 4." I thought "Man that must really suck to lose your job to a P4 with XP! We should all be afraid!" But then after rereading, I saw what you meant. My suggestion (if a *nix install is not possible) would be to make sure you configure the hell out of it and make it look as close to 98 or 2K as you can make it. It may take 15 minutes or so to make sure you got everything you can think of, but in the end, it will be well worth it! :)
