The Pentagon plane crashes
(VG Nett) Here flight 77 crashes into the Pentagon and explodes in an inferno of flames.
The unique imagery from the terrorist attack is now made public. The images show how American Airlines' flight 77 crashes into the Pentagon, taking 189 lives.
The images have been taken by a surveillance camera north of the part that was destroyed in the attack.
The hi-jacked plane crashed into the heart of the american army at 09:37 the 11th september. American authorities say that it is possible that the date and time have been added later on to facilitate the investigation of case.
A violent explosion
According to Aftonbladet the plane arrived with an angle of incidence of 45 degrees. The plane comes in so quickly that it is barely visible as a white spot on the right before a violent explosion shakes the building and thick smoke flows into the sky.
80 000 litres of fuel led to a so violent generation of heat that the glass in the windows melted and laid as small puddles on the lawn. The boeing was completely disintegrated in the violent explosion, and the largest piece of metal that has been found was less than a metre long.
189 dead
American authorities have had access to the images all the time since the terrorist attacks the 11th september, but they have not been released before now. According to CNN is there a film of this unique incident - from a hotel camera nearby.
All 64 people abord the American Airlines flight 77 died when the plane crashed in the Pentagon the 11th september. 125 Pentagon employees died, whilst 76 were injured.
