Where did the name tag go on picture no. 2? (n/t) by mahh2002-03-08 00:04:18

During the install of XP, Stef identified himself as the registered owner of the product. A non-documented feature of XP's 'soar' utility is the spontaneous generation of an identifier tag bearing the registered owner's name. This ensures that the 'soar' utility can only be exercised by a legitimate owner of the operating system. An illegal copy of the system would generate a duplicate tag, causing a data-collision in soar space. All instantiations of the soar utility would be redirected to deliver the meatware portion of the utility to Redmond where a team would be able to sort the situation out.

When the system was rebooted in this case, the soar utility completed (witness Stef's harsh return to gravity-mode) and the identifier tag was dropped.
