Read the terminal howtol. If all you want is a dumb-terminal style thing, it's a piece of cake. Basically run a terminal emulator on it and set up the linux box to run some kind of getty on the serial port. Wire up a serial cable, and your done. If your thinking X terminal or some kind of "smart" terminal, it is a little more complex, but still not too bad. Read the howtos.
