Let's say that I'm running XP Pro for some reason, and for a good long while, I'd been able to access our apartment's music server (via Samba, it's a RedHat 7.2 box)without a problem. Now, whenever I sign on, they tell me I'm unable to access the network, something about a semaphore timeout period expiring. So, the big question is, how do I get my music back?
Additional note(s)-
My roommate can access the server just fine, most of the time (he'll occasionally get the same error. A few minutes later, having changed nothing, he'll try again, and it'll work fine. This just started happening after my most recent re-install of XP [The re-install immediately after my happy little self-inflicted virusing, which some of you may have read about {I searched for the post about it, but after an hour or so, gave up}])
I can browse the network, (though it takes a lot longer for it to pop up than it ever used to,) and everything except the server appears just as it's supposed to...my roommate can browse the network, and everything including the server appears just as it's supposed to (whenever it's working properly).
My head hurts. While not relevant to the situation at hand on any technical level, I can't help but feel that the events are somehow linked... *grumbles*
Alright, well, thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give me...
