When I was in college, I had a chance to go to a writer's conference lead by some of the best SF writers ever. I sent them a story and they told me I could attend for free, if I could get out there (About 1200 miles). I really wanted to go, but I had a job that I needed so that I could stay in school. I stayed in school and kept the job. That was over 30 years ago, and I still regret not going to that conference. Maybe it would mean nothing to me now if I had gone, but because I didn't go it still bothers me. If I had it to do over, I'd go to that conference and make the most of it. I like what I do now, but being a writer was my dream.
If you don't care for your major, you can finish the classes you have started and use that time to make a more measured decision about what you want to do. If you're absolutely certain that the seminary is your calling, I say go for it. If you're not certain, maybe knowledge of EE might serve you later in whatever you do decide to do. |
