He had the skills and the presence of mind to dodge your car first, then dump it. A lot of folks get seriously hurt when, instead of juking around an obstacle, they lay hard on the binders and go skidding straight into the hazard (car, truck, pothole, what have you).
When you ride, the bike tends to go where you're looking. So in a tense situation (hey REPO MAN!) you have to learn to take your eyes OFF the hazard and look where you need to go to avoid it.
It also helps to have practiced the proper 'evasive maneuvers' beforehand... otherwise it gets messy. |
