and was told that I couldn't win anything beyond getting the arrest expunged from my record, which they supposedly did.
Apparently, there is a law in place which protects court clerks from being sued for damages resulting from their screwing up at their job, and s/he was the only who's mistake could be considered legally actionable, since the others were acting correctly based on their standard sources of information. Not reading me my rights didn't effect the outcome, and driving around looking for other arrests, while considered improper, was not technically illegal. |
