That was a coffee-table book. At thirty bucks a copy. She was hoping to get at least a small piece of your wallet. :)
Note for those not into the biker scene: Harley-Davidson is now known almost as much, or more, for shamelessly merchandising their brand name as they are for selling bikes. Books, T-shirts, coffee cups, hats, window decals, teddy bears.... the list goes on and on.
Shoot, you can even get a H-D Limited Edition Ford F150 pickup, for those times you have to haul the bike in for repairs.... and no, it isn't cheaper because of the "H-D banner ads" (logos) prominently displayed on the truck. You do pay extra (exclusive paint and upholstory, plus H-D cut of the sale price for the logo.) |
