(Off Topic?) Calling all Coders! (Long) by chuckab2006-11-19 12:55:59
ipfilter and ipfstat by KarlE 2002-02-14 12:50:24
The stateful firewall software ipfilter, available free for many operating systems including Solaris and FreeBSD (though not Linux, it seems), includes a monitoring tool called ipfstat. ipfstat -t produces a top-like self-redrawing display on the text console, showing the entries of the state table, i.e. tcp connections and udp "connections" currently open along with the traffic volume on each.
I am running ipfilter on FreeBSD 4.3-RELEASE and am happy with it.
