I'm trying to use ssh to port-forward a firewalled port (5900/vnc) to a non-firewalled port (110). I'm using this command on the vnc server (A winnt machine with an ssh server) ssh -L 110:127.0.0.1:5900 -g -N 127.0.0.1 It listens, but doesn't appear to do anything. I vnc to the server port 110 and the viewer dies with no error message. I need to do this because getting the admins to unfirewall a port will take a few years. Grr..
