Does anybody know how to do this by Spisefisken2006-11-19 12:55:59
  4.5 rephrased as mathematical puzzle by dogman0 2002-02-08 21:25:53
Find numbers a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h such that

12642 = 2187 a + 729 b + 243 c + 81 d + 27 e + 9 f + 3 g + h

and 0<=a<=25, 1<=b<=26, 2<=c<=27, 3<=d<=28, 4<=e<=29, 5<=f<=30, 6<=g<=31, 7<=h<=32. (BTW, <= means less than or equal to)

I don't think you can use back substitution, because everything will cancel leaving 1=1, and I'm not sure there's another way to do
