even some (many?) geeks don't like having a lot of meaningless technical details crammed down their throat. I've been using computers since I was 2 (that's 20 years, come the end of March), and, to put it bluntly, I have better geeky things to do than spend hours twiddling with obscure config files to do something that could've easily been done in 15 seconds with an automated program. Much as I have better things to do than program my software by toggling bits to enter machine code.
