That may apply to the Yang style which is almost exclusively soft (and incidentally what is taught most often in the United States), But the Wu style is almost as hard as Wai Chi Ru, and the Chen style is a balance of hard and soft techniques. A properly trained master in Chen style is very hard to beat with any other art.
