And I don't think that marrying-for-money is that common in the gold digger sense, but part of the reason that some people get married is for the security of having that partner to help support them both emotionally and financially. Hopefully both partners contribute in some way (whether with money or something else (no, don't go there, that's not what I meant)) so one of them doesn't feel things are unfair.

And that kind of partnership is fine, but there isn't only a love component. A marriage can rarely survive if you try to "live off love". The world puts too many other stresses on us to have it work that way. The couple has to work as a team to deal with every day life.

Don't ask me why I'm rambling about this, it just sort of started pouring out.
