civilians don't take it seriously enough. But more importantly, the instructors don't take it seriously enough. I evaluate a new studio by watching the instructor do his forms. I try to feel the flow of his chi. Mostly, with these instructors, I feel nothing! However, in San Francisco, there are a few Wing Chun, Kendo, and Tae Kwon Do instructors that are very good. But, they're 90 miles from here. Even the Taiko players understand chi better than the local "martial arts" instructors.

For those that don't know, Taiko Drum concerts are a manifestation of group chi and you can actually feel it, during a good concert.
