WARNING: controversial post by shadowrose 2002-02-05 14:37:41
If anyone out there is still having issues with the whole "war", and still getting over 9/11/01 (which I'm certain most are), DO NOT READ THE POST I'M ABOUT TO MAKE. I have no intention of being a troll, nor do I post this in order to spark any issues with anyone. This is a very serious post, not in response to the troll, but in response to the people who took the bait.

-------------------------------------------------------

I find it funny that so many of you cried out for justice when the events took place on September 11th, 2001. Some of the most adamantly anti-war, anti-military among you cried the loudest for action from our government. Your world as you knew it came to an end that day, and you were afraid. Yet now, as things have died down, and memories of the events are just beginning to fade in most people's lives, now you go back to your viewpoint that war is unacceptable under any circumstance, and that Bush is a warmonger.

What is it with you people? Have you been so drowned by political and social engineering that you have absolutely no clue to the fact that the world is not a friendly, Disney-ish, it's-a-small-world-after-all, place? It's big, mean, and half of the population wouldn't think twice about slitting your throats for the kick of it. Humanity is not a good thing, and there will never be lasting world peace. There never has been.

In this world, when you lay down your arms and take a peace stance, you are killed. That is why we have defenses around this country, and that's why we have a military that goes to war where men and women die for your sorry, unthankful rears on a regular basis. You've already seen what happens when we as a nation decide that we should stop spending on our defense budget, and focus on the environment, etc. We lose 4000+ friends and loved ones to people who don't feel the same way we do.

You live in a self-perceived world where there is no right and wrong, no good and evil, no morality nor ethics. Everything is relative to each individual. The stupid thing about that is when you remove responsibility from people, you still claim you can call for justice when things don't go your way. If there is no right or wrong, good or evil, then there is no enemy. Nothing wrong was ever done to you or those people in the twin towers. You cannot spit on war and still claim it was a tragedy when people started jumping to their deaths from the buildings. To everything there is a cause and effect. You cannot sit back and say to anyone that this war is something we shouldn't be involved with. To do so is to spit on the grave of each and every person who died that day.
