I don't know for a fact but I have heard tell that the on-board raid controllers are more hassle than they're worth anyway. I got 2 EIDE HDs 1x40gb & 1x13Gb. ATM I got win98 on the 40 and Linux on the 13 but I intend to have linux on all. do you "really" need to raid your drives? My ecs board got ddr and I got an athlon 900. i'm not tryin to sway you but unless you are running a large server for FTP or web do you really need bells & whistles? I don't know where you come from but in the UK it seems to be the fashion to push IDE raiding (about as pointless as putting wheels on a tomato to me) Something to consider....
