My very British philosophy professor, and really cool guy, told us a story once.
"When I was a little boy in Britian," he began, "I always thought you Americans always thought of us as 'Limeys', seeing how British sailors would suck on a lime on the way over to the colonies to prevent scurvy. I always thought that's how you thought of us, then I realized, you didn't think of us at all..."
He then broke down with laughter and we just stared at him, puzzled. He's a funny guy, that Limey professor of mine... :) |
