I really had this question smack me in the head around lunch time. I was wondering if the UK is a country, which it appears to be, then what do you call the member States, which also appear to be countries. And the "gods-forsaken" bit was about the Cornish folk - some of whom post here - who are always getting left out of the discussions about the UK because, well, obviously, the gods have forsaken them. ;-) Thanks for piping in, but I'm still not sure what the UK really IS, terminology-wise.
