  Mahlzeit. by aix tom 2002-01-25 05:59:00

It's a bit late for Good Morning.

{{{SaleGamine}}}

I wasn't able to find an english word for "Mahlzeit". Is there one ?

It's kind of a universal greeting in connection with eating. You say "Mahlzeit" at a table when you or someone else starts eating and it means somethin like "I wish you a healthy appetite and that the food tastes good"

On the other hand, if you leave your company for lunch and grunt a nasty "Mahlzeit" it means more like "I hat you all and have to get away from you for an hour, dammit !" ;-)
