I mean that "alternative music" is a term thrown around so much lately, that it applies to a huge range of music. Is "metal" the same way? Metal is a term I've somewhat distanced myself from, but I'm open-minded, and I'm willing to check out new bands. I just have this old idea of what metal is, and I don't like it. (But I'm willing to change.)
