some will find it offensive, and some of those will defend. From my point of view (IT helldesk) you are sounding like my worst nightmares! Sorry, but it's true.

I don't make policy. Why don't you go chat this way with the VPs and directors who do make policy? I have little doubt that if you did, your problems with that particular IT support dept. would cease. VPs are arrogant, too, and will find other solutions than developers with this attitude.
