Developers/contractors:
- Are so touchy about their own equipment that they won let us go near it, let alone ensure that it has proper virus/security protection.
- Do not need a dual 1.5Ghz processor box with 1GB of memory and a 21 inch flatscreen to do their job, no matter how much they think they do
- May make more money than a secretary, but do not deserve to get preferential treatment because they do. We do tickets in the order they come in.
- May know more than me, but I guarantee they don't know more about our configurations and "inadequate" images. So don't act like you do.
- Are not in charge of IT/S. Improper planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
When we have the responsibilty to maintain a secure, virus-free network while monitoring software licensing, developer and contractors are the most dificult to make comply with our standards. Perhaps the speed bump is in the mirror |
