well: A+ can actually be a+- or a++ b+ can be similarly b+- or b++ again same with O and AB Then for negs they are a--, b--, o--, or ab-- Then +- are neutrals I think but get classed as positives. O can donate to any type. A or b can donate to AB. A can only donate to A similarly be can only to B and O must have O. But the rh factors must match afik. My daughter is A- and I'm A+... there was some speculation my son might be B+ but that would be weird as his dad's type is o+(well he thinks its o+). No I didn't realize my blood type when having my kids and nope docs didn't do much about it til after they were born either if I remember right. In compatabilities in blood types can cause all sorts of issues from "blue babies" on... Btw my mom is A+ and my dad so supposedly was 0+. My siblings are afik both A+... Which I'm guessing means that my parents were +- not full ++... With my kids its a possibility that their dad is -+<shrug>
