garbage to the dump themselves, though. Depends on where you live. And even those that can find there is usually a fee involved (unless you dump illegally, in which case getting caught means a much steeper fee).

But most people can find a geek friend to help them. ;-)

Seriously, though, I've always had bad luck with tech support. My company has a Help Desk, and any time I've asked for more than access to a particular network share, they've been the Helpless Desk. And sometimes they don't get the permissions changed easily, either.

I, for one, would not miss tech support at all. It would open up a lot of new jobs for some of us, too. If tech support was something you paid for independently (as opposed to getting whatever the company has provided for you - and which you often pay for, anyway), then I think we could get a nice boost in productivity. Or maybe not. ;-)
