Recent business polls show that too many layers of management is bad for a company (Isn't that what us Tech workers have been telling them for the longest time, not that we'd be listened to.) Anyways, they don't realize that it would do no harm to axe middle management, so a lot of companies are axing lower management, putting middle management in charge, and then giving "team leaders" or other "empowered employees" more authority, so they can make up for the lower management to worker ratio.
I'll tell you this, they better not try this at a gun factory. Managers don't take well to being axed. |
