.. when Elrond said something to Frodo, I could just HEAR him saying "Mis-ter Anderson" instead of "Frodo Baggins." And the voice was so dry, and he never really smiled. When I think of all the times the book says Elrond laughed, or smiled... Elrond-of-the-book has a sense of humor, and yet is dignified enough to keep the council from degenerating into a bunch of squabbling schoolchildren. okay, enough ranting there.. I could go on for hours....
