REVIEW: Lord of the Rings by Illiad2006-11-19 12:55:59
Did anyone else notice .... by hav 2001-12-28 09:50:51
Now I haven't read the books in a very long time, so I may be somewhat incorrect but I noticed a nifty little gift they added to the dialog.

If you listen carefully, often you will notice that one of the characters will introduce the chapter into which the movie has now moved. I noticed this on several occasions but I can recall only two right now.

The first time I recall is early in the movie when Gandalf and Frodo are riding along. The scene moves to that of the hobbits putting up the party tent. Gandalf comments, "Ah a long awaited party" (or something like that).

Later when the four hobbits get chased down the hill by Farmer Maggot, Merry (or is it Pippin) reply that thier fall was a shortcut, a shortcut to mushrooms.

There are several other places where that happened. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the chapters were introduced but i can't remember many of the other chapternames. I think its an interesting nod to the hardcore fans out there.

I've seen it twice already, I'll probably see it again. There's a little 1.5 run theatre in Clovedale that runs movies while they are still on their first run in theatres. You get two different movies for $5 (granted the building is showing its age, but its not too bad). If they get LOTR:FOTR, I'll try to remember to let the list know for the benifit of all the Lower Mainland UFies.
