Well Il, I gotta agree with just about everything you said. (We Canadians need to stick together afterall!) Its amazing how watching Jackson's vision of TLOR completely reawakened the visions I had when I read the books the first time. I remember being swept up in the visions that danced in my head when I read the book...how vivid they were. With the exception of the minor plot changes, this is an absolutely amazing movie. Smashing. Magical. RJ PS. McKellan as Gandulf could not have been more perfect. The transformation from an at times whismical rapscallion into the all powerful wizard on the bridge was perfectly portrayed.
