HELP! Raid / Stryping Problems by MikeCDN2001-12-04 11:01:15
Two things to try... by seye 2001-12-04 11:43:02
ONE:

If his data is worth $70, try DriveImage from PowerQuest.

You can download an eval version (which won't "restore") and try it before you plunk down any money.

If the Partition isn't too mangled, you can write an image to CD-R or a network drive.

Install DriveImage on another box, make the "rescue floppies" boot them on the broken computer and cross your fingers. The raid controller shouldn't need any special drivers at this level (at least mine doesn't on my SA6R)

TWO: (simpler, cheaper)

Install a spare IDE disk on the regular (non-raid) controller. Load 2000 on that, then install the raid drivers. You should be able to recognize the logical volume and fix/copy files from it - again, if it's not too mangled.

HTH,
Paul
