HELP! Raid / Stryping Problems	by MikeCDN	2001-12-04 11:01:15
Someone where I work insisted on Stryping two hard drives on his computer, last night while he was trying to compile something his computer crashed booting it up today it starts booting windows and gets a little past he Press F8 thing and says \WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEMced is missing or corrupt and that isn't a typo the SYSTEMced thing. So I figure I'd try and reinstall windows overtop so we can get the files then deal with the problem, but when i go to the reinstall screen in tells me the partition isn't formated. Also reading the book it tells me that if the RAID isn't set to the first 3 boot devices it won't work properally, then select other devices to load off the CD when you first install... So I'm assuming that is that problem. So how do I access the raid drive then to save his files? If it won't boot in windows and if I can't change the boot order? The motherboard is a "ABIT VP6 DUAL PIII" yes I know it's a piece of crap so no comments please, becuase just becuase I'm the computer person here doesn't mean that people actually listen to my opinions (like getting a good mboard, and not doign stryping). Anyways if someone can please help it would be most appriciated, I'm stumped and we really need to get the work off this machine.
