Got one more! by Apfel 2001-11-16 14:17:11
Those who checked my diary know that I work for a bank and by knowing that you should think that security is at top level.
Now here is the story.
One day we had a training on some new software which tranfers files similar to FTP and listening to all the info they say something I still can't believe. They said that the authentication is just done by verifying the user ID on the on the node which is receiving the data.
Now of course you still need to log in to a bank PC with user ID and password, but knowing how easy it is to bypass that on a windoze box made me think.
So I decided to confront them with that fact and all that came back is that you'd had to inprove the security on the sending side.

Now that's a bad excuse!

No wonder I ain't got any money on my account! ;o)
