That's what I used to do at General Mills. One day I had to go out and replace a 21-inch monitor attached to a *nix workstation. It seems the engineer using it decided to water a plant hanging directly above it. To the guy's credit he knew what he did, was apologetic, and didn't bug me while we waited for the for the replacement.
Point is, even smart people have lapses of reason...
I also used to work in a small repair service. You get all sorts in there...
There was the lady who brought in a computer with a cat wallpaper, cat screensaver and one of those stupid cats that walk around the screen while you work. Inside, as you can guess, I found about six pounds of cat hair. One pound for each of her cats, I think. The machine was slowed to a crawl by a myriad of moronic downloads that were all placed in the startup folder.
She called me every half hour to ask "How's my lil putie?". Apparently, she was worried about missing a Christian chat she visits nightly. Some people are just too pathetic... |
