in a bucket of preserving fluid until proper containers could be manufactured. (Special ordered polymer containers and the school didn't budget much for the anatomy class.) Some left the lid of for too long and micro-organisms invaded.

Keep in mind: biological tissue in fluid will eventually begin to separate. Lipids precipitate out, muscle fibers begin to fray, and so on. So, we had a large bucket filled with contaminated, decomposing brain sections in a preservative fluid saturated with decomposing biological particles. What fun!

I don't think any former posters were involved but I've kept a list of names in case they should need more specimans.
