I also agree is probably the best doze choice for a high end box, although, unlike what some people claim - many hardware devices in 98 won't work - including my el-cheapo Zoltrix WebCam and my Pinnacle Studio DC10 video capture board. I think he should mess with something else than Win2k on a low end box, which really hurts on a pentium 2 class machine with loads of memory. Nevertheless, if he really wants an excuse, the simple fact that he wants to experiment should be enough.
