  Meteorology... okay, so I'm nuts.. by LthrOttr 2006-11-19 12:55:59
Studied Meteorology, to go into Severe Storm Modeling and Forecasting. Didn't finish the degree. Do I use it now? No... but it was cool while a student... got me an excellent position on the Tornado Chase Team (Storm chasing ROCKS!)

What I did pull out of my Uni experience was networking and computer junk (worked on the Uni Network Construction/Destruction crew and managed the MIDAS (Meteorological Information Data Access Service... god, the thing ran on OS/2 Warp... *BLEECCH*) system for the Met department.

All of which scarred me to leave the furry, loveable network architect/IP Routing nut we all know and love (I have GOT to find the picture a fellow ufie Co-worker took, which goggle eyes attached to my beard to reproduce Mike and Dust Puppy)

I'm definitely a straggler... been reading UF since Dec of 97, once spent some regular time in MIRC, one tried to host a UFie getogether (and ended up with a disaster, and helpful housmate destroying the shirts) but I'm sort of back around.
