Question for all you smart computer types, by cayliel 2001-11-12 12:52:31
because cayliel is quite confusèd.

i'm able to recieve packets, but not send, on my own snazzy computer (i'm on my parents' right now). why not? is the question. i have a d-link DFE-538TX ethernet adapter, and the Link Indicator is on (meaning it has good linkage to the supporting hub) and the Activity Indicator flashes whenever it's recieving something.... though it's also supposed to flash when it's sending. i've tried changing IP addresses (ie. i used this IP, which obviously works), but to no avail... the last time this happened, it was my cat-5 cable, as the lights weren't doing anything, and all that fix required was fiddling around with the cable some. now, however, it seems quite happy... and so cayliel is at a loss as to what to do. help the damsel in distress, please. :)
